“Being busy” is something I have been struggling with lately. I’m sure most of you can relate. Being mom, wife, friend, KidzView Director, volunteer at school, and Life Group/Bible study participant can feel like running a marathon at times. It’s easy to try to do life all on my own, put my head down, and run through each day checking off tasks as I go. However, that’s not how God designed us to live. The Bible tells us to “bear one another’s burdens”, “love our neighbors”, and “be a part of the body of Christ”. I can’t do any of these things by myself, they all take community.
Lately, I’ve tried to stop, take a breath, and pray as I feel my “busyness” overwhelming me. God has been showing me that turning to Him, my husband, my friends, and my coworkers for help, prayer, and wisdom is not a sign of weakness but a sign of trust. To put my pride aside and be reminded that God, not me, is the One in control, allows me to rest, lay work aside to play a game with my kids, have a good long talk with my husband, or go to Starbucks with a friend. Yes, God has given me lots of roles and jobs, but by letting Him lead me through the busy times, I have time to enjoy the other things in life that He has blessed me with.
What about you? Do you need to stop, take a breath, and ask God what He really wants you to be doing instead of just plowing through life, day after day? Maybe it’s taking a little more time to spend with your family… To give you ideas on how to do that, I’ve reworked our Family Time pages.
Your KidzView kiddos will receive a Family Time page each Sunday. A link to each one is also below. Take time out of your busy schedule and get to know your kids and your Creator even better!
