Christmas from the Heart

Christmas from the Heart LogoOnly 43 days until Christmas!

Hopefully, the thought of Christmas inspires happy memories for you and your family and a time to pause and celebrate the birth of Jesus.  Christmas is also a time to ‘spread good cheer’ and help those in our community. On December 15th, VVCC will host our 3rd annual Christmas from the Heart event, and we would love for everyone in the church to come and be apart. Christmas from the Heart is a celebration for all the many families who participate in serving and blesses the SOS and BTP (Blessing Teen Parents) families.

One of the ministries we serve with Christmas from the Heart is SOS, which stands for Serving our Students. SOS is an outreach ministry of Valley View that serves our local families who are under-resourced. Each Wednesday during the school year, we pick up children from a local apartment complex for dinner and Connect: Wednesday Nights. It is a great time of mentoring and relationship building. Most weeks, we pick up around 30 school-aged children. Feel free to stop by SOS in the gym any Wednesday during the school year starting at 5:30pm.

Christmas from the Heart is an intentional opportunity to invite these families for an evening of food, fellowship, gifts, and the message of hope.  It is also an opportunity to open the church doors and love people as God calls us to do.  If you would like more information on Christmas from the Heart and how to help, please visit the Christmas tree in the lobby.  There are many ways to sign-up to volunteer at the event or you can choose a heart with Christmas gifts your family can purchase prior to the event. We are excited about this opportunity to bless these families, so come join us!
