Student Ministry | January

Student Ministry LogoWe have kicked off the Spring Semester and a few changes are underway in the Student Ministry!

Beginning this past Wednesday at Connect: Wednesday Nights, we are splitting the High School and Middle School large group times! This will allow our teaching and application to be even more tailored to the life stage of all our students.

Coming up VERY SOON is the Student Life Conference which will be our Spring Retreat! Each student received a packet this Wednesday, but if your student is missing theirs, Camille will have more available. Pay attention to the payment deadlines because the cost goes up and we can’t accept scholarship applications after February 5th!

Also, you haven’t gotten to know your student’s small group leader yet, see myself or Camille and we will get you introduced! We want to partner with you to help your students be who God created them to be and that means working together.

As always, we want to make sure that our students realize that we don’t just support them on Sundays and Wednesdays, so with basketball and other winter activities up and running, if your student is participating let us know so we can try to come out and support them!

Be sure to follow us on Facebook: VVCC Student Ministry & Twitter: VVCC Student Ministry because we post regular reminders about whats going on!

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your student!

I'm originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but call Cooper, Texas, where I graduated high school, home. I am the oldest of fifteen siblings. (Yes, I said fifteen) I am my mom's only biological kid and the only white kid in my family! In 2002, I married the most amazing woman in the world and in 2012 God blessed us with, in my opinion, the cutest little boy ever created! I've been in vocational ministry since 2001 and after thirteen years in student ministry, God has brought me to Norman, Oklahoma as the Lead Minister of University Christian Church before that I held ministries in Oklahoma and Texas. I received my B.S. from Dallas Christian College and my M.A.R. from Liberty University. I love Jesus, people, Texas Tech, reading, watching movies, basketball, and learning about culture. I have a passion for reaching people with the love of Christ and seeing them in turn change their worlds with that same love! So that is me in a nutshell, my life has been anything but normal, but I wouldn't change it for the world! Along the way, I've lost parents & siblings, been on top of the world, had it all come crashing down, & hit rock bottom, but through it all God has had a plan and has helped me see that I am His son who He loves and because of that there is no reason to fear or worry or stress. He's got my back! Bottomline, I am just someone who loves this adventure of life with its ups and downs & is trying to point people to a Savior who love us more than we can imagine!
