Family Ministry Spring Update

I enjoy the changes in the weather. Believe it or not, I even like the cold weather! I’m not one of those people who moved down here to get away from snow….I would like more of it! However, as the weather warms up, and the ants start getting back into my house, I am reminded of how Spring is coming, and I look forward to seeing “dead” trees become alive again with blossoms.

Along with our natural world showing signs of new life, I love the fact that Spring is a picture of God redeeming us and giving us new life. Just like the natural world has seasons, our souls have seasons as well. In the Family Ministry, we are coming upon a busy season, but a season with potential of soul renewal and new life. Allow me to briefly share some highlights.

preView Remodel– We are looking forward to renovated spaces to better facilitate our young lives as they learn about Jesus! We have begun tearing out walls and carpet, ready to make way for new things! Bear with us as we are under construction for a time.

Various Trips for Kids- Our 18-20 somethings just returned from Passion Conference in Houston and our 4th and 5th graders just returned from Superstart! in Arlington. Both groups had a fantastic time and were challenged with great teaching and worship. Our High School and Middle School students will soon be participating in the Student Life conference in Richardson February 28-March 1. Make sure your teen is registered for this great event! If you have a child who attended Superstart!, make sure you ask them about their movie. Marriage and Parenting Resources- One of the goals of the Family Ministry is to provide families with resources to better equip them to be godly parents and spouses. During the month of March, we will be offering the second part of a parenting series called Grace Based Parenting. This class will be offered during the 9:30am hour on Sunday mornings in room 201. We hope you will make it a priority to attend. Even if you missed the first part of the series, you can still come. We will bring you up to speed.

Another resource we have for you is The Art of Marriage seminar that we’ll be hosting March 28 and 29. Childcare will be available up to 5th grade. We have done this seminar before and had great reviews. The curriculum is very well done and lends itself to some great discussions. Pay attention to the website, blogs, social media, and bulletin for more information as it gets close.

May this Spring be a season that brings in new life for yourself, your kids, your spouse, and our congregation!
