Student Ministry | March

Student Ministry LogoWe have hit the halfway point for the spring semester! It seems like time is flying by!

God has been moving in our group! The Student Life Conference was a great time of growth and bonding for our students and on Wednesdays we are continuing our study on people that have encountered God. Then April 2nd and May 7th will be Friends Night at Connect! We will have pizza and give a prize for bringing the most friends.

Starting March 19th, we will open Summer Camp registration. You can reserve your student’s spot with a $50 deposit. These two weeks are going to be life changing and we want EVERY ONE of our students to go! Space is limited so you do not want to wait to save your student’s spot! As of now the cost for each week is $350 plus several fast food meals but that will be reduced once we get the check from the Chili’s Fundraiser.  In addition we will have a workday here at the church to help offset even more of the cost.  Check out the details below for more information.

Also if you haven’t gotten to know your student’s small group leader, see myself or Camille and we will provide the opportunity for you to be introduced. We want to partner with you to help your students be who God created them to be and that means working together.

Finally, check out the links below. Raising a teenager can be extremely stressful sometimes so I am always looking for articles or tips that can help.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook: VVCC Student Ministry & Twitter: VVCC Student Ministry because we post regular reminders about what’s going on.

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your student!

I'm originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but call Cooper, Texas, where I graduated high school, home. I am the oldest of fifteen siblings. (Yes, I said fifteen) I am my mom's only biological kid and the only white kid in my family! In 2002, I married the most amazing woman in the world and in 2012 God blessed us with, in my opinion, the cutest little boy ever created! I've been in vocational ministry since 2001 and after thirteen years in student ministry, God has brought me to Norman, Oklahoma as the Lead Minister of University Christian Church before that I held ministries in Oklahoma and Texas. I received my B.S. from Dallas Christian College and my M.A.R. from Liberty University. I love Jesus, people, Texas Tech, reading, watching movies, basketball, and learning about culture. I have a passion for reaching people with the love of Christ and seeing them in turn change their worlds with that same love! So that is me in a nutshell, my life has been anything but normal, but I wouldn't change it for the world! Along the way, I've lost parents & siblings, been on top of the world, had it all come crashing down, & hit rock bottom, but through it all God has had a plan and has helped me see that I am His son who He loves and because of that there is no reason to fear or worry or stress. He's got my back! Bottomline, I am just someone who loves this adventure of life with its ups and downs & is trying to point people to a Savior who love us more than we can imagine!
