Summer is a great time for families to connect in a meaningful way. Sometimes that connection is from the yelling and screaming coming from the backseat while on vacation. Sometimes the connection comes from a conversation with your child about manners, and you see that he/she finally gets it. And sometimes, those connections come from a broken hearted child who needs to know that you love him/her regardless of how everyone else seems to be thinking about him/her.
Family Fun Weekend is an event to help you and your family to foster some meaningful connections. FFW will be Saturday and Sunday, July 12th &13th. The cost is $10 to help offset the cost of meals. There is also a $7 per person charge for the Lake Day at Ray Roberts. Programming for FFW will run from 9:00am-2:30pm on Saturday, then 4:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday.
On Saturday, families will participate in a service project that engages our community. Upon completing the project, families will have some discussions about what it means to serve, and how we see Christ at work through service. Lunch will be served, and a movie with some family discussions and conversations to follow.
On Sunday, we will spend the afternoon at Lake Ray Roberts swimming, playing games, hiking, grilling out, etc. There will also be a time to be together as a family to connect with God and each other as a family. We believe this will be a lot of fun with other friends and family as we enjoy the Great Outdoors!
Take advantage of this opportunity to make some meaningful connections with your family. Don’t let the summer slip away into busyness and disconnection with your family. This Sunday is the final day to sign up for FFW. You may sign up at the Welcome Center at Valley View.
