KidzView and Student Ministry Update

Great things are happening at Valley View! We love to see God at work changing lives! We just finished a great week of VBS and we love to see the energy of the adults and kids who attend!

Our KidzView department continues to work through a series of lessons this summer entitled “Summer Vacation”. Through this series, we’ve taken various summer themes – vacation, the beach, the fair, playing outside, etc – and used them as a springboard to discuss spiritual truths. The kids have been responsive and we love hearing them tell about their summers and watch them make connections with other kids and their small group leaders.

On Wednesday, July 23, we continue our summer tradition called “Splish Splash Bash” from 1:30-3:30pm for ages 4 years old through 5th graders. On the south side of the building, we will have some large inflatables that are so much fun to play in and cool off. Please make sure to pack sunscreen and a towel. We will also have a light snack.

As for our Student Ministry, our Middle School students will be going to Student Life Camp this Sunday through Friday in Oklahoma. Our students will be challenged with great teaching, worship, and enjoying each others’ company.

This year’s camp is designed for the purpose of group building through activities. In addition to the teaching that will take place throughout the day, they will also be playing together. We feel that is so important in creating a good foundation for a solid youth group as they grow. If people can laugh together, then they can serve and worship together.

As Midweek Madness (Wednesday nights) continues through the summer, here are some upcoming events to be aware of:

  • July 16 – HIgh School Volleyball at Greenbelt Park near Frankford Rd. 7:00-???
  • July 23 – Mystery Event. Wear your swimsuit 7:00-8:30pm.
  • July 30 – Mystery Event. 8:30-12:30pm. You will need to wear closed toe shoes.
  • August 6 – Roughriders game
