We are excited to announce that Amy Irby, one of our own members, has joined our staff as preView Director! preView Director is a part-time position that works within the Family Life Ministry. We are excited to welcome Amy to the team and trust that our Valley View family will love and support her.
Amy previously ran a daycare business from her home. She will continue to take care of those children until they transition to another childcare provider. As a result, Amy will not be holding office hours yet, but will be present on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s to direct and oversee programming for our birth through pre-K children.
Amy has been working with Karen Gradilla to transition the leadership of this department and “learn the ropes” on leading this great group of individuals. We are so grateful for the countless hours of prayer and service that Karen provided to this ministry. Thank you Karen for 3 years of faithfulness and devotion to our kids and families.
Amy is a graduate of Abilene Christian University, with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. She taught for 8 years in the Garland ISD, teaching 1st and 2nd grades. Amy has held internships in children’s ministry while she was in college.
Amy is married to Matthew and they have two handsome boys – Samuel, 3 yrs old, and Luke, 1 yr old. Amy volunteers with us in both KidzView and preView and Matthew works as a volunteer in the Student Ministry. Together, Amy and Matthew have been an active part of Valley View and are excited about the future of the church.
Will you please join me in welcoming Amy to our staff? Take a minute to drop by preView – preferably when it’s not busy 🙂 – and introduce yourself. We are blessed to have her as part of our team.
Just a friendly reminder to also introduce yourself to Lindsey Neely, our new Children’s Minister. Lindsey joined us in early August and has been doing a great job getting to know her volunteers and the children that God brings to us each week.
I am extremely excited about the future of Valley View! God is at work and I’m thankful to be a part of it!
