Outreach

BTP Clothes Drive during the month of October:
Please consider donating your gently used baby clothes, sizes newborn to 4T, in order to help the teen parents in our community.  You may drop off your donations at the church office anytime from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, during the month of October.  We are asking for donations to be made early in order to have time to sort the clothes prior to the event on November 14.

Open Gym: Friday, October 3 and October 17, 7:00pm to 9:00pm:
This event takes place every other Friday night from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  Throughout the evening, kids in the 5th through 12th grade have a chance to observe how good it is to be among the people of God.  Volunteers have the opportunity to let the kids know that the church is a place of refuge, fun and unconditional love.  Please contact Chad Pickens, Outreach Minister, cpickens@vvcc.org, or Nate Jones, nate_jones@live.com, if you would like to volunteer and support this program.  There will be NO Open Gym on October 31!

“Act Like Men” conference; Register October 19 to November 9, in the Lobby:
Look around.  What’s so desperately needed where we live, in our country and in our world, are men who embrace all that God created them to be.  Men who are loud and ruthless about their own sin, but patient and full of grace in leading others.  Men who long to follow God without limits and meet the needs of those around them without hesitation.
To get there we need radical surgery.  It’s time to cut deep and get it all, and not be afraid of what that means.  We want to challenge you to join thousands of men for a 2-day conference, November 14-15, and step up to Act Like Men!  Visit actlikemen.com for more details about speakers.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.  Let all that you do be done in love.”  1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (ESV)

Valley View Black50th Celebration of Valley View Christian Church, Sunday, November 9:
Join us as celebrate the foundation for our future.  More details to follow!

My husband, Michael, and I moved to Texas in 1984 and began attending Valley View in 1987. We have 3 grown children and a precious granddaughter. I consider it pure joy and an honor to serve the Lord in any capacity. I have served in ministry for the children and youth and am currently active with the Women's Ministry and as a facilitator for Bible Study. I enjoy spending time with my husband, antiquing and cherish precious moments with my family and friends.
