Stop Hunger Now

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be taking on a initiative called Stop Hunger Now. Stop Hunger Now has a vision to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable people. They coordinate the distribution of food to children and families in countries all over the world. We have an opportunity to join them in this incredible effort!

Our goal is to raise $6,000 to provide 20,000 meals to vulnerable children and families around the world.

It won’t be easy! We only have two weeks to collect donations and register volunteers. Starting this Sunday, we will begin registering volunteers online and in our lobby. We will also have a designated place for you to donate money towards this cause. You can also give online, by clicking here and selecting the ‘Stop Hunger Now’ fund. This is a chance for everyone to give a little extra – don’t let this take the place of your normal giving to the Lord. Think about ways that you can sacrifice to help us reach this goal – maybe skip your morning coffee run and pack your lunch this week. Ultimately, our sacrifice will be small in comparison to the way we will be able to bless people around the world. It won’t be easy, but it is possible and it will be worth it!

We also need 100 volunteers to join us in packaging the meals on November 23rd from 6-8pm. Gather your LifeGroups, friends, neighbors, and families for the evening as we serve together as the body of Christ. There will be child care available for the younger children, birth through 4 years old – older kids can participate with us!  And don’t worry…we will have the Cowboys game on the big screen in the lobby.!

We have been talking about what it means to live a generous life on Sunday mornings, and this is an opportunity to put our generosity into practice! We are so excited to come together to be generous with our time, money, and effort. We will see you there!

I joined the Valley View staff in the fall of 2011. I have a bachelor degree in music and worship from Ozark Christian College. My wife, Megan, is my best friend and the love of my life. Music and creativity bring lots of joy to my life and I am so blessed to be able to devote those gifts to the glory of God. It amazes me that God has blessed my life so richly by allowing me to serve with an incredible family like Valley View.
