Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves. Romans 12:10
As this semester comes to a close and we prepare for the upcoming holidays, I hope that you have taken time to be an active part of our church body. Maybe you were a part of the Tuesday morning Bible study and took the chance to dig into 1 and 2 Thessalonians. Maybe you participated on Wednesday nights by leading a small group of kids, serving in preView, or taking part in the Women’s Bible Study in room 230. Perhaps you attended a weekly life group, greeted guests on Sunday mornings, folded bulletins, served on the worship team, managed the coffee bar, passed out water at Open Gym, made a meal for a new mom, or scooped popcorn for The Big 5-0. We are each an important part of the body of Christ!
As Phil, our discipleship pastor, reminded us on Sunday, our time is an important resource. We first need to use our time to study God’s Word and grow. Then, we need to give our time to share what we’ve learned to build relationships and be God’s hands and feet. Light Your Love, on Friday, December 5, is the perfect opportunity for women to do just that!
Women of all ages are invited to come to church on December 5, at 7:00pm, to watch a Christmas movie, build friendships, and enjoy tasty snacks! As we fellowship together, we will also take time to share God’s love with Valley View’s neighbors by making goodie bags and writing notes to be passed out before Christmas. Please bring a friend and a bag of individually wrapped chocolates for the goodie bags. (May we suggest Nestle Assorted Miniatures, Hershey’s Kisses, or Brach’s Peppermint Holiday Candy Canes?)
Go ahead…In the midst of this busy holiday season, take some time to love each other deeply and honor others more than yourself. I look forward to seeing you at Light Your Love on December 5!
