You may have seen the white tree covered in little red hearts in our lobby over the past few weekends! This set up is for our upcoming event, Christmas from the Heart – an intentional evening where we invite families in our community into our Church for an evening of food, fellowship, gifts, and the message of hope.
December 14th will be our fourth year to put on this event, and every year we have been blessed to watch God the Father move in the lives of local families. Last year alone, we had over 150 volunteers come serve, and were able to give gifts to 51 families! God is so good to give us such a tangible opportunity to be His light in our neighborhood.
Now, back to the tree in the lobby. The hearts have information on them: somebody’s age, gender, and what they want for Christmas. One of the ways we want you to serve our community through this event is to pick up one of those hearts and make a purchase for the person that heart represents! If that’s not something you have the time for at the moment, you can either drop off a financial gift at the tree in the lobby, or you can sign up for a volunteer position the afternoon of the event!
Here are some of the other volunteering options for Christmas from the Heart:
- Registration, Greeting or Security
- Host Families
- Blessing Teen Parents guidance or Elf Room volunteers
- Candid Photography
- Dining Area or Refreshment Cafe
- Gift Pick-up or Gift Wrapping Areas
- Christmas Presents for Parents (working with guest children)
- Cookie Decorating
- Ornament Making
- Christmas Story Time
As we commit to being a part of these families’ lives, each year we see more and more attending services and other events. This is such a cool way to Strengthen the Faith of families and future generations, as well as Deliver the Hope of Christ to our community!
Sign up this Sunday to join us at Christmas from the Heart on December 14th! See you there!
