During our LoveDallas sermon series back in January, our Senior Minister, Joe Weece, talked about how loving others will require two things – margin in your life, and sacrifice. Often, both of those will refer to how you spend your time, but it also means your resources! In order to equip you to Love others with your resources as well as your time, we are hosting a class on finances right here at Valley View later this month!
Financial Peace University is an incredible tool that can help you position yourself to have the margin that you need in your life so that when God calls you to sacrifice something to love others, you can obey! It’s a 9-part video series taught by renowned financial guru Dave Ramsey, who takes principles straight out of Scripture (did you know Jesus talked about money all the time?!) and makes them applicable to your wallet. Whether you are an empty-nester looking towards retirement, a family with education costs bearing down on you, or a college graduate facing mountainous student loan payments, this is a class that will help you reign in your bank account to accommodate the way God is calling you to live.
If you need some numbers to help you get a handle on what this class could mean for you, the average family who completes this FPU series pays off $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700 in just 90 days!
This class is 9 weeks long and starts Wednesday, February 25th, at 7pm, in Room 207 – that’s during normal Wednesday night Connect hours. If you register online, you can order the kit pictured below, but if you can’t spend the money on this registration, you are so welcome to come join the class without the kit! We will have print-outs from the material for you to follow along for free!
