We open the doors that all would know it is good to be among the people of God. We open the doors that all would experience the presence of God through His Church. We open the doors that this building might be known in our community as a place of refuge. It only takes our obedience in opening the doors… and our Lord gathers His children.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8)
On selected Fridays each month we invite the students of our city to Friday Night Refuge at our church building to jump-rope, hula-hoop, hopscotch, and join in a four-on-four basketball tournament. Our desire is that they would taste and see that the Lord is good, experiencing the blessing of taking refuge in Him. More than anything, we want students to know Jesus. We want them to find the truth while they contemplate, as one young man at Refuge did, “Wait! Jesus is God?!”
We are particularly excited about next Friday (March 13th). Directly after Refuge, our dear friend and brother in Christ, Thi’sl, will communicate the gospel through a hip hop concert. Bring your friends, invite your neighbors; may all who come find true refuge in this place.
