Christmas Traditions

We love our Christmas traditions at Valley View. Here are a few of our favorites, but we would love to hear about yours! Comment below to share your favorite Christmas memories or traditions.

“My dad used to ring a bell as we were going to bed on Christmas Eve, making us think that Santa was close by. ” – Amy Irby, preView Director

“My mom always made our favorite breakfast casserole on Christmas morning…and now my wife does it!  Also, I love going to eat Chinese food after our Christmas Eve service at Valley View.” – Daniel Harney, Worship & Creative Arts Minister

“Our family always reads the Christmas story in Luke before opening presents.” – Cindy Hardy, Worship Coordinator

“Growing up, my family rarely was able to travel over the holidays as money was tight and my extended family lived far away. My parents each year invited other people in the community who didn’t have family nearby to come and have Christmas dinner with us.” – Mike Havens, Family Life Minister

“My husband Tyler proposed to me after a carriage ride looking at Christmas lights! Now we go look at Christmas lights every year.” – Camille Stowe, Administrative Assistant

“Every year for Christmas my family makes biscuits and gravy after we open presents. Its my favorite part of Christmas. ” – Lindsey Neely, Children’s Minister

We can’t wait to see you at Valley View’s yearly tradition – the Christmas Eve service at 6:30pm on December 24th. Join us to celebrate the birth of Christ, sing some Christmas Carols, and recognize the Christmas story in a one-hour service that evening. There will also be childcare for infants through 3 years. See you there!

I love being with my babies & teaching them that we should always give back to those in need as my parents taught me. It’s those lil acts of kindness that they remember most of all!
