Valley View Christian Church is sending a team on a mission trip in 2016 that meets ALL of the examples above.
One of the missionaries we support, Mike Schrage, started an orphanage in Kitale, Kenya, along with 3 other families. This orphanage has given over 100 African children a home, but now that the home is 25 years old, it is in bad shape. The roof leaks, the building needs paint, walls need to be repaired, the kitchen needs to be expanded, and more. We are looking for a team to go to Kenya July 23 through August 5. We need you, whether you are a skilled home repairman, a person who is just willing to learn how to paint a wall, or someone who is willing to do some cleaning as the job progresses.
- You will experience another culture in the African country of Kenya. There you will meet children who have grown up in this fascinating environment, as well as a team of African volunteers who work at the orphanage. Imagine meeting brothers and sisters in Christ from a completely different lifestyle, sharing your testimonies, praying together, and working for the Lord together!
- This will be a very busy mission trip. We will have work to do each day, much of it physical labor. However, if your strengths are in other areas, you will have an opportunity to help out in the school or with the children. We will tailor the work to the teams’ skills.
- We will take a day off and go on an African safari! It’s amazing what you can see in a day on a safari. Experience another area of God’s planet, while seeing lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, monkeys, elephants, and more. We’ll have time for a little souvenir shopping as well.
- What a great opportunity for a father/son trip, a family trip, or a friendship trip. This is a trip you will always remember, serving the Lord together in a way you perhaps never dreamed of doing!
