Vacation Bible School 2016

This summer at Valley View, our kids will be going deeper into the truth of God’s Word during our Submerged VBS. Over 100 children will learn that Jesus sees, knows, and loves them personally through the lessons they will learn that week!

Since we are so excited about VBS and the incredible community outreach opportunities that come with it, we have a few key pieces of information that you need to know!

  • VBS will take place June 13th – 16th, from 6:45 – 8:45 PM.
  • VBS is free! It is also available to all children that are 4 years old through those going into 5th grade in Fall of 2016. (Nursery – 2 years old is reserved for volunteer children only.)
  • Children’s T-Shirts are available for $5 each.
  • There are a ton of different ways for adults and students to get plugged into VBS. We need small group leaders, small group assistants, registration and greeting team members, and tons of help with decorating and set-up, just to name a few opportunities!
  • If you have a child in your life that you want to participate in VBS or you would like to volunteer, register here! (Registration for VBS 2016 is closed, but walk-ins are welcome! Walk-in registration begins at 6:30pm on Monday, June 13th.)

The Theme of VBS 2016 is SUBMERGED.

We are going Deeper into God’s Word to find out who Jesus is. The big key picture that the kids will learn for the week is that Jesus sees, knows, and saves them.

Our Key Verse for the whole week is Psalm 139:23-24.

Night 1
(Luke 19:1-10)
The Bible story for this night is Zacchaeus. We’ll be learning about how just like Jesus saw Zacchaeus when a lot of other people tried not to see him, Jesus sees us.
Night 2:
(John 3:1-21)
Jesus and Nicodemus: For this night, we’ll be learning that hallmark kid’s ministry verse John 3:16. Because Jesus saw and knew Nicodemus, he told Nicodemus about how he came to save him. Jesus knows and saves us, too.
Night 3:
(John 9)
Jesus and the Blind Man: Jesus knows our purpose. Even though everyone else looked at the blind man and saw a way to place blame, Jesus saw a man that he could heal. Jesus sees the same with us.
Night 4:
(Mark 10:13-16)
Jesus and the Little Children: Jesus accepted and loved the little children, even though they didn’t look like much at first. Just like how he loves kids today!
