Stories from Into the Streets 2016

Thank you so much to our volunteers who served our city during Into the Streets 2016! June 24th –  27th were good days for Valley View and for Dallas. Check out these testimonies from some of our volunteers and some photos from our weekend of #LoveDallas.

Reconciliation Outreach

“I went to the Restoration House and when I asked all the women I met how they got to Restoration House, they all replied that God led them there. Their stories were so interesting. One lady was an ear, nose, and throat specialist. She had a high paying job, fancy car, fancy house and hit bottom from drugs. It showed me that it can happen to anyone. Their stories really touched my heart. But they all had a positive outlook and found joy in Jesus instead of feeling hopeless.”

The other day a good friend of mine confided in me about her 29 year old son. She just realized he has an alcohol addiction and I was able to share with her about this place and the people I met. I thought maybe God put me there so I could help my friend and her son.”

Care Package Delivery to Refugees

  1. God brought people out of danger to Dallas. They are refugees–I wonder if they feel like the Israelites did when they were exiled. Do they hope to return to their homes some day, and this is just a temporary home?
  2. There is a need for love and help, even within our own zip code.

Stop Hunger Now Warehouse

“First I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve GOD through Into The Streets. I feel extremely privileged. I saw GOD working through each and every person that served and in those HE touched through us. What an amazing experience packing food… 5,880 bags for the hungry. Praise GOD! So fantastic!! What a wonderful ministry to feed those in need.”

Snack Bags for the Homeless

The night we went to tent city, I was so touched by the simplicity of those beautiful people. When I asked if there was anything I could pray for them, not one said their present circumstances. WOW – I was so humbled, I hardly slept that night. GOD is teaching to me stop complaining about insignificant things and this was a great lesson for me. Thank you and may GOD continue to Bless each of you and the city of Dallas.”

We participated in 8 different projects around DFW over June 24th – 27th, 2016. There are more stories to be told… Glory to God!
